What would you do if the thing you've been chasing turned out to be already gone — and you're fine without it?
The film's ending is quietly radical. Turkish and Tommy don't get the diamond, the money, or the glory. They get their lives. In a genre defined by 'one last score,' Snatch suggests the score was never the point. The chase — the improvisation, the near-death experiences, the dark comedy — was the life. The diamond gets lost in a storm drain. The characters walk away. That's not a downer ending. That's liberation.
