Wetness is partly a perception created by our brain sensing liquids on skin.
90% confidence
Our skin contains sensors that detect temperature, pressure, and texture. When water touches our skin, these sensors send signals to our brain that we interpret as wetness. Interestingly, the brain combines information from cold and pressure sensors to create this feeling, since wetness itself isn’t a direct physical property. This means wetness is both a physical and mental experience.
