In New York, Tesla built the Wardenclyffe Tower. It was massive, over 180 feet tall. He believed he could pump energy into the Earth and pull it out anywhere on the globe. No wires needed. But his backers pulled the money when they realized they could not charge people for wireless power. The tower was torn down for scrap.
