Idi Amin fled Uganda in 1979 after being driven out by an invasion and lived in exile in Saudi Arabia until his death.

After years of ruling with violence and mismanagement, Amin’s grip on power weakened. A combined invasion by Tanzanian forces and Ugandan exiles forced him to flee the country in 1979. He spent the rest of his life living in Saudi Arabia. He died there in 2003.
